Disaster workers need to eat. Disaster field kitchens need certified workers and cooks. Additionally, small communities may have a community kitchen in a park that could be utilized if certified food service workers were available.

There is too much liability to accept food from someone's home, and or to have a non-certified person prepare food for people. This is true nation wide.
For a certified cook this person should have at least a ServSafe Foodhandler Certificate. For a certified food Prepreration volunteer they must possess a ServSafe FoodHandler certificate as well.
