  1. Profile for All Hands and Hearts - Smart Response

    Hi Recovers team,

    I represent a non-profit disaster relief/recovery organization that has programs in many communities - All Hands and Hearts. We seem to have had someone from our organization create a profile for us years ago, but whoever did it is no longer with the organization. Is it possible to "claim" the profile for our organization so that we can update our profile and the communities/locations we are working in?

    I am the Chair of RVCOAD in Jackson County Oregon this year. What a year to be the chair! Three weeks ago we experience complete devastation. Over 2,500 homes were lost and 100 businesses devoured by fire. Displaced people were shuttled to our Expo for temporary emergency sheltering. We had only used this site through the pandemic of COVID and had about 140 volunteers. We had several partners already registered (than heavens), so when this hit we became a HUGE asset to the County! We provided them with hundreds of volunteers and met all their needs and then some.   3. Emailing Volunteers

    I am matching needs to donations and volunteers. It is easy to email someone that has donated. However, I cannot find an easy way to email a volunteer through the site. Can you point me to a link to do this?

  7. during registration intake form had a big Eeek and also worried if this was a scam site

    The window after my name and address bar that asked what I was volunteering to do was already full- I am a translator and it had plumber info, lol. iIt would not let me, the cursor was not live and it would not erase. Ao when i leftx the page the confirmation email sent me back and I could edit it. I worried that I had changed the plumbers account, that info was open and not private and eek.
    Now i have it ironed out but ut was a bump that would had turned me away had our shared crisis…

  11. Deactivated account?

    Hi there. I made a mistake. I signed us up as an organization, when I think I should have sign up our group as a volunteer (I'm on the board of a Water Polo Club that wants to volunteer time/energy).

    In my frustration I think I deactivated my account with the thoughts of signing back up as a volunteer (b/c I couldn't see how to chnage from "organization" to "volunteer"

    Long story short, now I can 't create a new account b/c the email address has been used and I can log back in b/c it tells me I need…

    Some pages have back buttons, some don't. The user interface would be friendlier if it was consistent. This mostly blue Contact Us page, for example has no quick way to get to the dashboard.

  13. Make Community Updates interface consistent

    Community Updates can be edited from any page by any administrator if accessed through the front page of a community site. However, there is no update button if accessed through the agency pages of the posting agency. This is inconsistent.

  14. Need busy category for volunteers

    Right now volunteers are marked either available or unavailable. I have an increasing number of people who are on assignment for a short period of time but will come back to us when that task is done. I was thinking of marking them as "unavailable" so that no one else called them immediately but that confuses these people with those who don't want to volunteer at all any more. A "busy" or "on assignment" tag would be useful.

  15. Put editing help popup wherever organizers edit posts

    Somewhere, I can't find it just now, there is a popup that gives html-like tags to use to format posts and updates. There is also a longer reference document. These should be available on every screen that organizers and admins can edit.

  16. On drop down menu under Your Communities

    Looks like you have every choice but Resources. This makes it harder for organizers to remember to update the Resources information -- which is among the most important parts of the site. Please add it.

  17. Add filter options

    As I work the site it would really be nice to sort out "touched" posts from "untouched" posts. We can now filter by "met/unmet", tags and locked. But often an organizer has made a comment or sent an email but doesn't think it's appropriate to actually lock the post. Particularly with volunteers, it's too easy to skip a post altogether so the volunteer is never contacted. Filtering by those which have had no communication would help.

  19. Change pictures for inactive sites

    It's difficult for new visitors to recovers.org to wade through all the communities or find their own. I suggest we need 5 different stock pictures. 1) for active sites in the first 3 months of a disaster, 2) for pre-disaster preparedness sites, 3) for long term recovery sites that are still in active use 4) for discontinued site and 5) for inactive sites that were never loaded with data.
